Students,
You will use this blog to communicate with each other throughout the semester. I encourage you to post questions, comments, short-cuts, tips, etc. 10% of your grade is based on class participation, which includes your use and participation on this blog. Post often! You can also upload items and pictures to share. Just keep in mind that this is a public blog that anyone can look at (but only our class can post to).

ReplyDeleteThank you for the invitation to post to the blog. I look forward to our class discussions.
ReplyDeletehello everyone!
ReplyDeletehello! i'm really looking forward to this semester
ReplyDeleteHi. I'm not sure whether I have joined Blogspot; this is a test. It looked to me like I was joining Blogger by Google. Is that the same as Blogspot?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Google's pages for joining the Reader did not resemble the screen capture on Dr. P's Blog PowerPoint slide show.
Also, at the moment I see three icons for members at the top right, and six people listed as contributors. Perhaps when I hit "Publish" I will be added as a contributor?
Nope; I'm not listed as a Contributor, a Member, or a Follower---even though my comment was published. Can someone explain this, and what I am supposed to do about it, if anything?
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! I look forward to working with you this semester!
ReplyDeleteKarst,
ReplyDeleteNothing special popped up for me to be listed as a contributor. I followed the link in Dr. P's email and logged in with my gmail account.
I did, however, have problems replying to your post and had to publish a separate post.
ReplyDeleteKarst- Did you join using the link I sent? It doesn't matter if you don't show up as a contributor as long as you can start a new post. If you cannot- email me and I'll resend an invite to you.
ReplyDeleteI can't recall exactly how I did join; the page did not resemble the screen capture from the PowerPoint. Google has changed things.
DeleteYes I did follow the invite, which no longer works.
I suppose we could try again on the joining.
Now I see that I am listed as a contributor, but not as a member. Not sure what to make of that. I do note that at the presnt time we have 4 members and 9 contributors.
DeleteHow many are enrolled in the class?
Hi everyone. If you are like me and made a profile before knowing you should be using pseudonym you can click on your name and go to edit profile to change your display name.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone!
ReplyDeleteHey, all! Looking forward to the semester.
ReplyDeleteWhen I viewed the link to VA Dept. of Ed in the AUP notes, I discover the website had changed and the link was broken. Here's the location of the new link: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/support/safety_crisis_management/internet_safety/acceptable_use_policy.shtml
