Using Prezi
I found that Prezi is a very user-friendly tool for the classroom. The tutorial video was very useful, and anything it didn't cover was relatively easy to figure out. I think these are much more visually appealing than a regular powerpoint. Although Prezi wouldn't be very useful for many physics topics, I would definitely consider using it for those topics in which it would be useful. It seems to me that these would be much more interesting for the students to watch and learn from than a powerpoint, overheads, or writing on the chalkboard.

I agree about the presentation potential of this tool. I love the fact that you can embed so many images and videos. However, you have to be careful about the zooming around feature. I've heard people complain that it actually makes them

Exactly! It seems intuitive but the motion thing was getting to me. I was getting frustrated when stuff was moving when I did not want it to...and I was feeling a little motion sick....nothing dramamine wouldn't be able to fix!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I think the movement and animations are really neat, and provide a very interactive multimedia experience which can keep students engaged, but you do have to be careful about the nausea factor. When reviewing my own Prezi, I started to feel it and couldn't watch it too many times in a row.
